Turquoise bridesmaid dresses, what colour flowers?

universa_2k, 27 of October of 2010 at 13:05 Posted on Planning 0 18

Hi all,

I have just started planning my wedding and am having a church wedding August next year. I have decided that I would like my bridesmaid colour to be turquoise/teal but am not sure what colours I could go for when it comes to flower boquets. I havent decided on my dress yet but am having the traditional white/ivory.

I was thinking white/cream flowers for me, and maybe the same but smaller boquet for bridesmaids, but think it may then look too dull. What colours could I mix in with the flowers to make a brighter, summery feel but that is still going to go with the turquoise?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm having Teal too, my girls are having cream roses/gerberas with a it of "greenery" to mix it up. I considered Purple as it looks stunning (IMO!) with Teal but I was afraid to introduce another colour...

Ivory would look fine here are a few pics from a previous Bride:

Or you can add beading & Ribbon to introduce the colours

With a darker Teal we accented with Orange/Coral:

Plain ivory unless youre using another contrast colour somewhere you could bring into the flowers.

I'd go for pink for a contrast, or if you're aiming for something more traditional, just whites and ivories so that the turquoise can speak for itself.

I went to a wedding where they had teal dresses with white flowers and it looked lovely - didn't look dull, the white/ivory flowers really stood out against the deep turquoise colour.

Otherwise I would say Magenta, which is a deeper shade of pink than most.

Thank you all so much for your ideas, looking at the gorgeous photos I really like the white/cream that stand out so brightly with the dresses. I also love the ideas of pink or orange.

Maybe it would be a good idea to just have a look around and see what the florists advise :-)

    Hi

I had aqua and hot/bright pinks for my wedding in May, it's a fantastic combination. When I look back at my photo's they are so bright and vibrant, so hot pink is my vote !!

The water in the vases was an exact match with the bridesmaid dresses, I had hot pink rose petals on the tables as well as aqua table diamonds !

I even customised my post box with Aqua/Hot Pink !!

    Suze,

Thank you so much for your lovely pictures. You look gorgeous! I am definately swaying towards hot pink, it just adds so much colour doesnt it.

And I love the postbox aswell, something I had thought about before.

    Congratulations on your wedding.
