TV adverts

Really like the Microsoft Windows 8 one, where the little girl draws loads of brightly-coloured pictures of her far away Daddy and her Mum pins them up on her bedroom walls. But that's mostly because I REALLY like the version of "Express Yourself" used as the soundtrack.

But on balance, I hate TV adverts. They are full of nonsense, lies and depression-inducing reality checks. Particular loathing for cosmetic adverts and for ambulance chaser adverts.

I HATE the ones with Kevin Bacon in, mainly because Kevin Bacon annoys me and I don't see the point in the advert...

I can't think of any that I like at the moment but I am sure there is some out there!

Mascara adverts.

No, my eyelashes will never look like that without sticking a million spiders legs on to my lash line.

I also like the John Lewis adverts along with the majority of the nation. I do very much admire the creative agency, Adam and Eve.

The John Lewis I tend to love one, not get the next, then love the next one. As Kharv said, Adam and Eve are great. I loved the Paloma Faith 'Never Tear Us Apart' advert, but totally didn't get the recent Christmas snowman one!

Not sure they are shown in England, but Scottish peeps will know exactly what I mean by "Fanny"!!!!

I LOVE the Harvey adverts! can't stand most others although I do love the Aldi ones. They are funny (particularly the fat Irishman in a red dress eating the special k equivalent and the 'I prefer gin to tea' granny).

I really hate the charity adverts with starving children and poorly treated donkeys. Makes me want to give less unfortunately.

I like these the old lady who says "my husband likes this tea, he also likes this tea....I dont like my husband" !!

or one where it ends with "I like gin!"

I thought that one was fantastic. I was disappointed it didn't seem to get a very heavyweight campaign.

also I like the google chrome ones, the one where the dad makes an account for his daughter always makes me tear up. I think they're really good and I always watch them.

The latest Aldi one with the little girl and her baby brother sitting next to her. They are playing with baby wipes and the little girl says 'Id like to change him...for a kitten'

The baby then looks at the girl with such a look on his face its hilare!!

Oh no really?! I hate that one. I always think it's going to be for some child abuse charity, and it's going to turn out that the stepdad has been beating him! Then it's Mcdonalds. Grr.

You'd rather it was about child abuse?!

I love the Kevin Bacon one that you see in the cinema - I don't think it's shown on normal television, but it's where he's all of his characters and Jarhead goes "What do you think Footloose?" "I just wanna daaaaaance". ?

I like the Aldi ones, I think they are genius. I lvoe the one for washing powder with the lad covered in mud, the expression on his face is brilliant!

I loved the old spice advert... "I'm on a horse"... Cracked me up everytime.

I hate Wonga adverts, mainly because I don't agree with them.

Compare the Meerkat was annoying me till Robert Webb got involved. Love him.

Didn't get the John Lewis ad this year.

I'm on a horse was a classic but I only ever saw it on youtube!

Hate the stupid horse women eating yoghurt one. And the virgin ones, all of them.

I love the ads with Harvey. I also like the Aldi and Compare the Meerkat ones. It's not an advert, but I like the new ITV 'holder' (usually before programes) with the little pug being washed in the sink.

I hate the likes of PayDay UK, Wonga and the endless betting / bingo Adverts. I also used to loathe the awful HP printer advert from a few years ago where there was a baby zooming around in his walker, it had a really annoying soundtrack too.

The Yorkie choc one with the bloke carrying the shopping

The tesco home delivery one with the Thor type guy. (They never play the full length one anymore when he's squeezing the melons!)

& the recently reserected Oreo cookie one. With the little girl showing her dad how to eat them.

I can't think of any I specifically dont like though as most ads are pretty awful!

Another vote for the Lidl ones. Gin and Kitten one inparticular.

I think the Elites cigarrette type one is clever as an ex smoker it appeals to me. Not all being about doom and gloom of smoking but showing up how much you miss out on whilst going out for a smoke.

I'm not keen on the Mc D's one again i thought it was going to be about child abuse.

I dislike all daytime loan ones especially the ones that had Carol Vorderman in them, old people trust her .. not good!

I HATE any advert where the animals are hurt and abused etc - have to get H to look away he is a sensitive soul.

Am trying to think of some more.

I liked the original "cats with opposable thumbs" one.

And Harvey too.

Most other adverts I find very annoying, especially their depiction of men as being very stupid eg Oak Furniture where he nearly turns the table over.

And anything with a bed in it appears to demand that someone throws themselves backwards onto it.

Haha! No, I just got emotionally prepared for it to be some harrowing story about this poor abused kid, then they go and get a burger!

Ooh this is on my can't stand list.

also really hate the Nivea ones lately - the man is on a quiz show and him and his missus just constantly put their arms up unnaturally, and the ad implies we all do this 'every day'. I hate companies that pretend to know what my daily life is like and get it really wrong.
