U shaped table plan....

Louby1404, 17 January, 2013 at 14:03 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hiya,

Just wondered how you would do this.

I have approx 50 people coming to the wedding (evening and day as its abroad). It's quite an informal do so we were going to have a U shaped table and have everyone together. I don't know who to have at the top of the U though. I have 2 bridesmaids (one single one with partner) and OH has his two sons as best men. I also have divorced and re-married parents. Who would you have sat at the top with you? I don't want to end up with any family politics getting involved as it caused a massive upset at my brothers wedding when my step mum was sat miles away but step dad was next to us!!! OH mum and step dad will be there too.

Hope thats not too mixed up.

Any ideas hitchers?

Louby xxxx

I'm a bit confused - how will you fit 50 people on to one 'U'? Won't everyone be miles away from each other?

I agree with Kharv, this is a U setting for 30 people

Hmmmm does look odd when you think that's for 30!! We're going to have 10 a cross the top tho ( us, three lots of parents and 2 sons then 20 down each side. The space is outside and huge. Not sure now tho. Any other ideas of how I could do it. I just don't want the standard formal layout.

What about just the 2 of you and Bridesmaids + Ushers?

Then keep the other spread out the table.

What about keep the idea, but having parallel straight tables? SO the same as the U Shape but with more rows? I went to a wedding like this and worked well!

A bit like this, but with less people on each row, it will depend how many rows your venue would fit as well Smiley smile
