Me and my H2B are getting married in France next September. We legally cannot be registered in France without living there for so many months, so we are booking a minimal registry in the UK a few days before. We see this as more of a "contract signing" before officiating our marriage infront of our family and friends, and will be kept as minimal as possible.
The hitch is as my dad and partner cannot make the ceremony in France I have asked them to be out witnesses. I have explained we will not see this as our wedding day and they'll be nothing fancy. However it still feels a bit like I should dress nicely... do I have a photo? I plan on wearing my dress after we get back from France and hiring a photographer to take pics with my dad.
I just would like to hear from brides who have done this. Did you wear a nice dress... I'm thinking a short cream lace skater style dress. Do we go for food with my dad after (although depends on his health) or do we just get on with our day hehe. I know our ceremony in France will be my true wedding and the one with the dress and nerves speeches and our anniversary date etc , but just not sure how to feel about the registry day haha and would like other brides who've done this input.
Thank you xx
