If it's not green I'd eat it. Is it the best before date or use by date?

Then eventually it grows mould. But if it's not mouldy it's fine.

Totaly fine. I never even bother looking at the date on sour cream, even if it is open, as long as it isn't green and doesn't taste funny I'll eat it. Never been ill as a result.

Thank you I have eaten it and it was lovely, Mr MF didn't have any and he is a wally, he is even more of a wally for telling me children can't get hand foot and mouth as it only affects animals. I had a little rant at him for treating me like an idiot, he has now just looked it up and oh, I was right, so that is two rights in one night, life is good!
