Unresponsive Stationary Vendor

Marie-Claire, 15 January, 2025 at 10:40 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hi,

I put a deposit down for someone to design our wedding invitations in April 2024. I saw they also started selling temporary tattoos in November so emailed them mid-November to ask about personalisation of the tattoos and got no response. The weeks following this I emailed them again several times, contacted via their website, on Etsy and commented on their Instagram and still nothing!

Over Christmas they took their Etsy account down and deleted my comments on Instagram. I had sent a couple more emails expressing my concern at the lack of response when we had planned to send over our wedding info in February. Even just an email to quickly explain why they didn't respond! I then found they have another gift selling business that has been posting regularly on Instagram and selling items on Etsy so i've emailed them too, but to be honest I've now totally given up on them and just want my deposit back - even if it is only £20!

Has anyone else had any experiences like this and what did you do to resolve it?

Yes, similar experiences often require persistence. Contact them formally via email or letter requesting a refund, citing breach of contract. If unsuccessful, escalate through PayPal, your bank, or small claims court. Document all communication for evidence .

I had a similar issue once and ended up getting my money back by raising it through PayPal. If you paid by card, you could try a chargeback too. Since they’ve taken down their Etsy, I’d definitely report them there as Geometry Dash Lite well. At this point it’s probably best to push for a refund and move on so you don’t waste more time waiting on them.

You paid a deposit for wedding invites, but after repeated attempts to contact the seller—including emails, website messages, Etsy, and Instagram—you received no response. They removed their Etsy account nelnet and deleted your comments, yet continue selling through another business. Given the lack of communication and misleading info, you're right to request a refund. Others have faced similar issues—try disputing the charge, reporting the seller, and documenting everything.

It is really important to choose a reputable wedding service provider. Reputable units are hard to avoid scratch games a large number of orders so you should be proactive to avoid interruptions. The topic's sharing is really good and a good source of practical experience for everyone to refer to.

poor bunny , that situation sounds awful, you should request a formal refund and save all proof of communication.
