unusual bra size

pennyh, 13 of May of 2014 at 16:04 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hi ladies - im hoping one of you can help im at my wits end ...

Im really struggling to find a nice strapless bra that is a size 38A ..... I have a really broad back but nothing in front so to speak Smiley sad

if i wanted 38B, not a problem but there is still too much gaping at the top - i know i could chicken fillet them out but Im having a destination wedding and feel they might make my chest rather sweaty.

Has anyone else had this problem - can anyone recommend somewhere, i have tried looking online at all the usual places like la senza, m&s, debenhams, but as soon as something comes up on the search they all seem to be mastectomy bras and nothing pretty.

Its not even as if i can go without as the dress needs some shape at the front

Any help - advice gratefully received ladies x

I would try a shop that sells just lingerie, they usually cater to most sizes. If you don't know of one near to you, you could also try Bravissimo who are very good.

This is the bra I am wearing - it's not available in a 38A but the cups come out really small and I have had to order a cup size larger than I usually wear, so the 38B would be ok for you I reckon

If you can get to a Rigby & Peller, do. You won't find anything better. I had planned to make a special trip from Leeds to London to get my wedding lingerie there (although I have the opposite problem - 30G!) but they just opened a store in Harrogate so I shall go there now. ?

For anyone who has bra sizing troubles I always recommend bravissimo. If you haven't got one near you, you can order on line. If it doesn't fit right you can send it back postage free and they'll send you another size, or you can get your money back. Whatever happens, you only pay for one lot of postage.

    Don't Bravissimo only cater for D cup+?

Yeah, Bravissimo specialise in larger cup sizes. I think they start at D?

I've been told before by the bravissimo ladies when getting a fitting that for a strapless bra you should try going smaller on the back & up a cup so maybe try a 36B.

Not sure if this is helpful but thought I would chip in.
