unusual party venue/renting private fields. can you help?

miss turkey, 13 April, 2009 at 21:54 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

Been ages since I posted but thought you lot might be able to help.

My Mum's 60th is this Summer and being an ageing (gracefully) hippy she rather fancies a party with a bbq, live music maybe some camping and a load of friends. We're in Kent so want to find a venue close by but obviously we're asking a lot.

Does anyone know of any good sites for finding unique venues that aren;t just swanky hotels or where i'd start in finding out how to rent a private field from a landowner or farmer..odd I know. any help appreciated.. ta

I'd just google for some local farms and give them a call if you can't find anything another way. Im new to Kent so dont know the area well enough to suggest anything, but there are millions of farms about. Or maybe some of the schools in the countryside might hire out their sports fields?

First port of call would be your local council. If they can't help I'm sure they could point you in the right direction.

Probably too far out for you being in Kent but was considering this venue for a while for my wedding.

Would have thought they could accomodate a birthday party and sounds like the kind of thing you're looking for?

Thanks all, it hadn't occured to me to speak to the council but will give them a ring first thing. Fabulous wedding place Mrs Smith!
