Unusual place cards - please help!

Hi Gemma - welcome to Hitched

I've seen this done effectively before . . . apples sprayed gold (could use edible gold food colouring) and a tiny tag tied to the stem. Or split the stem and slot the name tag on the stem.

Or place tags which are actual fallen leaves - using permanent metallic calligraphy pens.

Cookies with names written on with icing.

Lollipops or toffee apples with name labels tied on . These will also double as favours!

I would think something with leaves, or you could use something in the autumn colour scheme that is not necessary autumn -ish in itself.

If you do want to go the conkers route you can buy them from ebay. They're sold as spider repellants every autumn. There's a couple of old listings still knocking around on there at the moment - my godson got ten conkers for £1 last year!

I am planning on having something like this...

With a photo of each person on the front and their table name on the back, but they will all be attached to ribbon with mini pegs with little elephants like this on them. Elephants are less random than they sound, my fiancé's surname means elephant in Russian!

I'm having my wedding in August and have nicked this idea from a wedding mag; green apples with little cards in them with the names on, stuck in with headed pins.
