Yes, but those 'in the know', know! So who cares if average Joe doesn't get it ...?

There are 42 million possible combinations currently available to buy.

Most people do not have the time or inclination to seek out 'diamonds in the rough' ...

Most people also just immediately think of something to do with their name, initials, DOB etc and are not prepared to 'think outside the box' ...

I have had offers for H15 LDN and a valuation which places it at 10 times what I paid for it ... I've yet to get an offer that I want to accept so I've not sold it yet.

There is your first clue, no one wants to pay top dollar for your naff numberplates.

They are even more embarrasing if you have to explain them!!!

Surely you can see this, no?

I said i received a valuation for 10 times ... not an offer. the offer was for 4 times what I paid.

On another plate (T24 DED/TRADED) I received and declined a 'x10' offer ... I think it is worth more.

I think you should get to understand the market a bit better before you start branding things that you don't know a lot about as 'naff' ... just a thought.

    But he doesn't say what he bought it for.... 10 x £0 = £0

It is not greedy to desire what I view as a fair market price for it ...

So say you paid £50, and someone offered you £500 you'd turn it down?

You'd be a bigger twunt than the idiot offering you the money for it in the first place!

You don't consider a 400% profit margin sufficient? Where did you say you studied business?

The fair market price is decided by the, um, market. So that'd be the buyer then....

But what you think it's worth is irrelevant if you're trying to sell it. It's only worth what people are prepared to pay for it!

Debatable.... but it is stupid to refuse an offer and be left with unsold stock.

One buyer does not represent the market any more than one doctor represents the entire medical profession! I thought you were the smart one?

The only time I *ever* look at numberplates is if I've been in an accident or someone is driving like a toss3r. The fact that they've got one of those crud numberplates only emphasises the latter.

No, true, but I can walk down the road and find another doctor to deal with, whereas you don't appear to be able to do the same for buyers....

Your childish attitude is fast removing you from any market.

Viral feedback is a powerful thing... tread carefully!

Number plates are illiquid assets that take anywhere between 9 and 18 months to sell. I do not need the cash so there is no need to sell for less than what I think I can get ... you can't resell the number after all!

And one can't reinvest profits as easily in this industry as in others as there are a limited number of plates that have 'slipped through the net' and are genuinely undervalued in my opinion.

So us, being a potential market think they're naff. Your peers on the car site also think they're naff. We all think you're asking too much for them. You have no sales. What was the question again?

Eddie boy, you're not allowed to advertise your wares on here without being a registered HIB.

P.S. Living in London there's absolutely no way I'd want a plate advertising it.
