Using this website

Lisa, 28 January, 2025 at 23:15 Posted on Feedback to Hitched 0 17

I can honestly say, I have never been more frustrated in my life than trying to use this website. No help, nothing available. So much of it difficult to use because there is no explanation what the tabs and headings are for or how they can be used. Is it all gueswork?

When I've added the guests names - First Name & Surname (as requested) the search for the guest just has their first name and 1 letter of their surname - how is this helpful to Sarah Smith, Sarah Smitten and Sarah Salt when trying to find their name??!!

The menu part is a joke. I have choices between 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 deserts - not set menu 1,2 or 3

There are countless other bits I cannot get my head around. If I hadn't spent £69 on premium, I would have been off weeks ago.

I dont suppose anyone else has had the same problems...or maybe its just my age!!

    Hi Sarah,

I'm also getting married in May and realising there are some issues with the website!

Some of my guests are having trouble logging in and we noticed that the site doesn't show guest surnames when testing our QR code.

I anticipate having problems when I attempt to add the meal options next week. Some of my guests already tried to make selections when they RSVP'd. Even though we haven't had our menu tasting yet and therefore have added no info about food!

Where did you see 3 starters, 3 mains, 3 desserts on the menu part??

Additionally I've seen other comments about problems with the seating plan!

Please let me know if you're still having issues or if you have figured it out!?

    Natasha

    Hi Natasha - it's Lisa!
In the end, I didn't bother trying any longer to work it out. As I say, there is no help, no one comes back to you on email or message.
I sent out proper invitations and gave the option of RSVP by qr code online. Or good old royal mail. In the end, I asked the guests replying online to leave their menu choices In the messages. I then have a spreadsheet (a simple tick box) for me to transfer that info to. I explained simply about the names with one.letter for the surname(which has already caused problems).I don't have any of our guests emails, so once they have rsvp'd and didn't leave a.message with their menu choices, it's impossible to go back!!!Bit stressful....more infuriating tbh!!

Hi Lisa, my apologies for calling you Sarah!

I was messaging a few different members at the same time as I saw more and more issues in the Hitched Feedback section. I too was feeling infuriated and guess not thinking straight!

    Congratulations by the way!

I also sent out invitations with a QR code on the back. A couple of people said it didn't work and after playing around with it, realised that they have to Sign up and then Log in each time, before using the QR code. (!?) Alternatively if they download the app the QR code works fine. But they shouldn't need to do this! Nowhere is this explained, so is such a waste of time!!

In regard to guest emails, if you go into settings, under Privacy and Welcome Form, you can click the toggle to opt for 'Collect the names and emails of guests the first time they visit your website.' When they log in you will see their emails in your RSVP notifications in the Messages section. However, if you then try to send out a message from the website - Request RSVP - you still have to add the email addresses yourself as the field is blank!!?

Yes, no help, FAQ's, Support anything. Basically the website seems to either be a work in progress or very poorly managed!

Feel free to reach out for anything at all! Not that I'm an expert or anything, just trying to figure it out as I go along. Hoping that I don't have any serious issues from now on, it's so time consuming trying to resolve anything!

    Natasha xx

    Hi Natasha

Yeah, i'm done with it now, and done with getting annoyed!!

We now have a lot of the RSVP's back now. The rest, we will chase up by message or phone call. I have more pressing things on my mind, like finding a dress!!

Best wishes with everything, and hope your wedding is fabulous!

Hey there! I've noticed some similar challenges, so I've decided to simplify things a bit. I've completely removed the menu option from the website, which means that all my guests can just focus on RSVPing. Once I receive their responses, I'll send a Menu form created via Microsoft forms to those attending, allowing them to choose their menu preferences. This way, I can easily track everything in a spreadsheet and feed this back to my wedding coordinator.

This is what I did. However...its fine if your guests remember to write their food choices in the messages at the time they RSVP...as it can't be re visited once they save!!!

I was going to use this website but reading the comments is putting me off. Does anyone know of any better websites for sending out invites?

It would be ok if there was a bit of help/explanation and they tweaked some of the annoying bits. To me, it's just an advertising platform.

Hey Lisa, getting guests to write their food choices in the message section of your website, sounds like a really good idea. Thanks for sharing

    Hi Tanya
That's a good idea what you have done. Just to be clear, i sent out physical invites as I just like that touch (and I'm an older person!!) So all info was contained on the invite and not on the website. I'm so pleased now, that last night I had the last people confirm...the stress of that but is done!! Good luck 👍 💓 xx

We found the hitched website really inflexible so we used Say I Do - https://sayi.do - we’ve just used the RSVP part which is free, i made the invites on Canva then sent by WhatsApp along with the link - we’re having a buffet so no menu choices, have just asked people to message directly with any dietary requirements, hope that helps & good luck!

Thanks, I was looking at Say I Do but wasn’t sure if it would be any better than Hitched! Have you found it easier to use?

It’s really easy to- though I would say you have to pay to go premium for sending invites, you can send save the dates for free, so it depends what you want to do, I’ve just used the free version
