Vegas & Beach Honeymoon

hlb1970, 24 October, 2011 at 10:14 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 0 10

We are hoping to go to Las Vegas for 3 nights on honeymoon and then 7 nights at a beach location. Can anyone recoomend where to go for the beach location that involves as little travel as possible?

xx

Caribbean or Mexico would be your best bet from Vegas

If you are flying then flights to Mexico can take 3 hours + from Vegas depending on the resort you choose (think Los Cabos is 3 hours away?)

Or there is Hawaii which is a 5 hour flight away.

Or you could head over to the East Coast and go to Florida - Miami or the Keys which is a 6 hours + flight. You would have a shorter journey home if flying back from there.

Or if you wanted to stay in the US and drive you could hire a car in Vegas (there's even classic car hire companies!) and drive over to a beach resort on the West Coast such as Santa Monica or Santa Barbara. It's a long drive but you could take in some sightseeing on the way if you like that kind of thing ?

Head to California! It has some awesome beaches and you can do Disneyland, Universal Studios, Sea World, Hollywood etc so it's not completely beachy if you do want to do toher stuff! If not, then Hawaii or Florida would be a good bet. Cancun isn't too far away, either!

We did Vegas and then drove to San Francisco this summer. It was fab. We drove through death valley, mammoth lakes, Yosemite national park and along route 49 (gold rush country). We spent 4 nights in Vegas, 4 nights driving and 5 nights in San Fran. You could do something similar, but drive down to LA/ Malibu/ Santa Monica instead of San Fran. I would defo say stick to California though, the beaches are stunning and not too far from Vegas.

Shout if I can help in any way?

We looked into this a bit but bailed due to costs. However, travel agents recommended to us places like Hawaii, Miami (so that its on the way back from Vegas so easier for then getting home), and South California (its like wine country there, very pretty and borders with Mexico).

We did Vegas last year and then drove round the California coast. We loved it so much we will spend some of our honeymoon there in July. Santa Monica is lovely as well as the Orange County.

I would recommend California too, although it really depends on what time of year you´ll be there.

We did a driving tour in September starting in Vegas, going up north to San Fran and then south down the Pacific Coast highway. There are some gorgeous beaches in southern California, south of LA. You could either drive over or fly. We stayed in Santa Barbara and Laguna, which were both lovely.
