vegas last minute very small cheap wedding help!!

Victoria1992, 18 of June of 2015 at 11:17 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hi there

My partner and I are going to vegas for a competition in september ... less then 3 months away!!

we decided why not just get married while we're there?! we really don't have the money to spend on a wedding and we like the idea of having a hassle free wedding, i told my mum and sister who immediately booked flights to vegas on the same week so they could be there too...

its very short notice so we don't have much money to splash out and we plan on having a reception when we get back to the uk.

does anyone have any advice for me on how best to book this wedding?? I'm completely inexperienced and wish to have a memorable wedding even if it will be cheap and short notice. i still want to wear a wedding dress and I've found the one i want now i just need to find a venue and something fun to do after on a budget... I'm thinking as we're doing something so 'outrageous!!' as my nan would say that we should do something funny for the wedding reception ... my partner said bungee jumping !!! no way not ever !!! haha!!

when i look up interesting budget weddings the only options i get are elvis weddings, they look cheap and i guess it would be funny but I'm not a massive elvis fan :/

any ideas? the chapel of flowers looks lovely Smiley smile I've never ben to vegas so don't have a clue whats on offer!

thank you any advice would be welcomed!!

victoria xx

I have never been to Vegas so can't really help but in the weddings abroad section there was a Vegas thread. A few of the brides I have spoken to on there are using the chapel of flowers and it looks beautiful! There are lots of lovely hotels so no doubt you will find something wonderful to do after! I would email one of the hotels or even the chapel for reception advice and go from there also don't forget to check the legal requirements!

Vegas doesnt have to be tacky it can be done really nicely.

If you have a choice, choose your hotel well as some are really beautiful inside with huge staircases decorated in lots of flowers etc for your day.

Most will offer set package prices as well so you know what you are getting up front. This will allow you to focus on things like your dress without the fuss of the small details.

The one thing I will say is Vegas is very hot in the summer months, September included! You could have a helicopter tour over the grand canyon, it stops and you can have lunch.

Or, you could drive to California (4hr drive) and celebrate there too.

The Venetian hotel in Vegas offers gondola rides which is quite romantic?

The Bellagio outdoor fountain show is a must watch!

Do some Google searching and I'm sure you'll find what you want. Here's some ideas of the packages:

    Hi victoria1992,

Me and my OH were thinking about a vegas wedding and I did do quite a lot of research. We decided in the end to get married in the UK only because family could't afford to travel out there and I didn't want to regret my dad not walking me down the aisle.

Anyway I'm going off point! The best place to start would be http://www.lasvegas.com

I used that website for research for our last trip to Vegas. Also in the top right hand corner of the website there is a search button, just type in wedding and when the search field comes up scroll down to wedding and it will list EVERY venue in Vegas that you can get married at.

Yes some of them come across as cheesy and tacky but there are some of them that are beautiful and appropriate for a wedding, plus it can be very cheap to get married there too!

Here is one for example http://www.chapelofthebellslasvegas.com/packages.html

Make sure you get there at least a day or 2 before the day you have booked your package though as you have to attend a place on the Vegas strip where you register your wedding and obtain a certificate that you need to give at the chapel when marrying. There is a fee for it but I can't remember exactly how much now, its not much though.

Oh and make sure you have all the necessary documents/proof of ID etc.

Have a look at this website page, it'll give you some tips. http://www.vegas.com/weddings/las-vegas-wedding-legal-requirements/

As for your reception afterwards there is soooooo much to do its unbelievable! I would definitely recommend going on the high roller, Its definitely cool to see all of Vegas from high up and at the same time it is romantic (its basically the london eye however the biggest wheel in the world and it goes around slowly so you can take in the whole of vegas from high up!). if you want something to make you laugh go on the roller coaster at New York New York which travels inside and outside of the hotel! Amazeballs!

Oooh and whatever you do make sure you go to Ghiredhelli's Chocolate shop and visit their ice cream parlour...! OMG it is the most amazing ice cream I have ever had!

    Anyway I am rambling now...!

Good luck with all your planning and have a fantastic time!

    Hi Victoria, congratulations!

If you're seriously considering bungee jumping then perhaps the zip wire over Fremont Street could be right up your street? There's two next to each other so you could do it at the same time as your new husband and it goes over the 'old' Vegas where Binions and the Golden Nugget is. There are normally nightly rock concerts on and a canopy (nearly wrote canapé then) which shows music videos and special effects. It wasn't there when I went but the area is fabulous, if you've ever seen the film Casino its very much like that.

    Hi - congratulations!

check out the Eiffel Tower restaurant, we are getting married there with 30 guests in September can't wait Smiley smile

also heard good things about weddings at the Aria and Mandalay Bay..

ideas for afterwards - a show, the high roller, zip line, voodoo rooms, stratosphere rides, duelling piano bar at New York New York, strip photo tour in limo (this is what we are doing with our 30 guests, before heading to the lounge at top of the stratosphere).

you have soooo much choice, I found the wedding co-ordinations really helpful and they are more than happy to send you their wedding packs with all prices, packages etc.

also check out The Knot - Las Vegas, a dedicated wedding forum for Las Vegas weddings.

i'll add some links in a mo - happy planning Smiley smile

    Hi Victoria - Congratulations!

There are a few of us getting married or who have been married in a group chat on here already - under the heading 'Vegas Brides' - there are some ideas etc on there already...come join us!

I am getting married at Chapel of the Flowers on 15th September. After the ceremony/meal we have booked a limo for everybody to go on a tour of the strip ( photo ops at the sign & Bellagio fountains). we have the limo booked for 2 hours so a bit of a party on there ( can take your own drink/music ) then get dropped off at Fremont Street. While there we are going to get everybody to do the zipline wire down the street ( this may be an alternative to your bungee jump option lol )

    Hi,

I got married at The Chapel of Flowers (previously) and I cannot recommend them enough. The package we got for $595 was amazing. Chapel, chaffeur, flowers, photographer, just perfect, very very pretty place, best chapel by far and the people there were lovely and very very helpful. All booked online via their website, very slick with no problems at all. The photographer took over 200 pics and was very professional. Not tacky at all, very beautiful and felt so special. Let me know if you want any other info x
