Veil colour!

Kfalla, 10 June, 2015 at 22:16 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi,

I have ordered my veil but not sure if the colour will match!

Ive ordered a white veil as I find ivory veils look dirty. My dress is light gold. If it's any help it is Ronald Joyce Benedetta! The colouring of the dress is a little lighter than internet pictures.

Just looking that people buy gold veils or close enough to match a gold dress, and worried I will look like a Wally!

What do you guys think?

Thanks Smiley smile

I found that everyones idea of what white, ivory, cream, gold look like, is completely different! You can get away with a veil a shade lighter than the dress, but darker might look odd. An ivory veil should go, as it will be lighter than the dress though. If it doesn't look right, can you send the veil back?

I had a look at the dress as it's in my wardrobe and it certainly doesn't look at gold as the internet pictures, plus it has a bit of silver which tones it down a little.

i can send it back if it looks awful, which I'm really hoping it doesn't! The veil is gorgeous too!

I tried on a champagne coloured dress with a white (if I remember correctly) veil and I liked the contrast. The shop assistant wanted me to get a champagne coloured veil too but I thought it would be a bit boring being one-tone. Maybe take a few pics and see what it looks like. I think it depends on whether there are many people at your wedding who know the ''fashion rules''. I didn't when I started wedding dress shopping.

I just googled the dress, it's stunning!! I am possibly slightly biased as I have gone for a gold colour too - Maggie Sottero "Bronwyn" in gold/ivory Smiley winking

I've gone for an ivory veil, although I've yet to see it compared to the dress so I'm not sure how it'll look, but as people have said above, I reckon the contrast would work well if the veil's lighter, it'll look amazing! It seems like everyone's definitions of white, ivory and champagne are different anyway as I've bought several things which are "ivory" and in my book it's white - and vice versa!

My dress is also the designer's version of gold. To me, it's like a warmer shade of ivory and I love it. I've gone for an ivory veil (although undecided yet whether i shall wear it on the day). I tried on several with my dress, and although the gold coloured veil looked lovely over my dress, when it went across my skin it just didn't look right - dirty, almost. The ivory worked so much better. I agree with other posters, everyone has a different opinion of what looks white, ivory, cream, gold, etc. I don't think you'll look silly, i think it will look lovely.
