Veil Storage - Ideas/Advice

Stupidgirl45, 14 October, 2008 at 13:38 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hello Ladies,

I've bought my veil (thanks KV) and I am not sure where/how to store it. Its ribbon trimmed net - very plain, double layered, hip length.

It is currently living under my desk at work, so will need a good steam before wedding next JULY! In advance I know.

Should I just hang it up on a hanger in my wardrobe (presumably not with one of those clippy skirt hangers - i'll have to work out how to hang it on a normal hanger)

Any advice gratefully received

    Hi SG,

This is a good question! I went to a shop that custom makes veils, and she had them on clippy hangers. I'd be more tempted to hang it over a trouser type hanger, maybe in a bag to protect also.

    Clippy hangers are ideal!!!

They hold at the comb which is the strongest place and let the rest of the veil hang down perfectly...we hang all of ours like this in the shop even the very long ones ( although we do fold and clip half way to stop them dragging on the floor!!)

Put a pillow case over it to keep the dust off.

If it has any crystals or diamantes on it then DO NOT steam it. Hang it in a steamy bathroom instead.

When i collected my dress they told me not to keep it in the plastic covering, to wrap it in a bed sheet because it needs to breath!!!

I used a hair clip and hand band to create a hoop put it over the top over a hanger and brought an oxford sized pillow case in white from tesco's at 2.00. Dont no if the same applies to a viel in plastic but not taking any chances.

Thanks for tip on steamy bathroom!
