Veills... (Help! - where di you get yours?)

LiverpoolB2B, 13 January, 2016 at 12:39 Posted on Planning 0 11

Hi everyone,

So I've order my dress/hoop and belt but didn't order a veil as I wasn't 100% on the idea. My mum wants me to have one thought, so I'm thinking about getting one just for the ceremony bit so she's happy (also I don't particularly mind the idea I did run around with a pillow case on my head as a kid!)

But I seriously cannot find one for around £100. I do not want to spend anymore than that for something that'll be on my head for a couple of hours, can anyone give me advise as to websites or designers who might do a full length veil for around £100 ideally with a ribbon edge to match my dress. The ones I've seen are around £275-£350!! yikes!

Thank you in advance ladies xx

Cathedral length for £100 might be tricky.

There's always Etsy, but that's more American so you'd need to find somewhere that ships over here.

Nieve Couture do lovely veils (I'm almost certain that they're the brand of my veil!) - this one looks good

I was just about to post this very topic so will keep a close eye on it!

I also have no idea how you know whether a veil you like goes with your dress. I'm a jeans and trainers girl; absolutely clueless about all this!!

Heading Up veils are quite well priced, also a shop called "The Wedding Party" which we have in Norwich but they might have other locations and I'm pretty sure they have a website. Also, if you're not that bothered about keeping it after the wedding, there is always eBay.

I tried on one in the shop I got my dress from and thwey wanted £148 which seemed way to much to me so looked online and came across a lady that a lot of brides on here recommended, she's amazing, I chose the same veil which was a single tier, fingertip length, with a pencil edge and delicate sparkle for £38. She is so nice and helpful. Look for pink Margaret on Facebook.

I didn't have one but did try one or two from BHS and they were quite nice and very reasonable.

I found a second hand one on ebay for £10 the only reason I want it is to cover my large black tattoo on the back on my neck (don't like it anymore!) I've also managed to find a plaster that is skin colour and big enough to cover it. I'm going to try it all together when I have my hair trial

Mine is from the wedding veil shop and I love it! I was worried as it was at least half the price of others but it's perfect

I see you're from Liverpool (my geography is terrible) but there's a fantastic online shop whose based in Wirral called elegant steps. They do shoes veils and other accessories. I nearly bought a veil from them but via rainbow club online was £15 cheaper it's not cathedral length but both worth a look.

I also recommend http://www.theweddingveilshop.co.uk/ - mine is a chapel length veil, cost £54, absolutely beautiful. I was so scared buying it online I considered spending £200 on a trip for Blackpool! In the end they advised me over email, we're really helpful and so gave me a free sample of all the swatches so I could match it. Have to say they're fantastic - because they're both the wholesaler and the retailer the veils are much more reasonably priced, but the quality is fab!

I'm another Pink Margaret bride, I got a single tier chapel length veil from her with a lace trim that she sourced specifically to match my dress for £84. I sent her a picture of my dress and she made suggestions on what she thought would work well. Excellent quality and a lovely lady, the people in the bridal shop were amazed when I tried my dress on with the veil!
