Vendor - any advice, I'd really appreciate it!

Jenny, 4 April, 2025 at 12:36 Posted on Etiquette and Advice 0 8

Hi,

I'm getting married in 4 months & we paid a vendor to decorate our wedding venue.

Sunday - I emailed with some reimbursement questions, received a bounce back. Checked their website and it's not active. I whatsapped the vendor asking if her business is ok & about my partial refund... she replied back on Monday saying the website & email are changing servers but will be up and running within 24 hours (and will get back to me shortly on my query).

It's Friday now - I called, whatsapped and messaged on her Instagram page yet still no response.

Should I be concerned if this vendor has gone AWOL? I'm worried as my wedding is 4 months away.

We found this vendor on Hitched, they had good reviews and we paid the whole amount to get the 10% discount (which now looking back, may have been a wrong move). I thought as this vendor is listed on Hitched, they would be legit...

What should I do? Any advice, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Jenny

Effective sales require not only product knowledge, but also the ability to listen to the customer. It is important to understand their needs and offer a solution that will bring value. Using analytics helps build a communication strategy and increase conversion rates. Know more provides useful ideas and tools for improving processes. Continuous skill development and adaptation to the market make a salesperson successful and in demand.

I'd definitely be concerned if they're not responding at all. Four months feels like a lot of time, but it'll fly by! Since you paid the full amount, I think you have every right to be persistent. Have you tried contacting Hitched directly to see if they can offer any help or have a way to reach the vendor? When I'm feeling anxious and need to focus, I usually play Sudoku ; it somehow clears my head enough to think through the next steps. Maybe try that while waiting for a response? It could help you strategize your next move! Good luck, I really hope they get back to you soon!

It’s really useful to get solid advice on finding the right vendors you can trust for your big day, and in the software world there’s a similar idea of working with a reliable code review company to make sure everything is checked carefully, catches hidden issues early, and gives you confidence in the final result — thinking about quality and trust in any service helps you make better choices no matter the field.

Just wrapping up a major restructuring project with SORP, and I feel compelled to share how impressed I am with their reputation for handling complexity. We brought them a structure that was, frankly, tangled across several jurisdictions and local requirements. It was one of those ‘we need an expert solution, not a quick fix’ scenarios. sorp dove in without flinching. Their reputation for complex problem-solving is well-earned because they don’t shy away from the dense paperwork or the tricky legal interpretations. They broke down the situation into manageable, actionable phases, always tying every step back to optimizing our position within the UAE regulatory framework. It’s refreshing to work with a team that treats intricate legal and business challenges as puzzles they are genuinely excited to solve. Their fifteen years of experience really shines through in their methodical, yet highly effective, execution strategy.

Yes, it’s reasonable to be concerned, especially with no response across email, WhatsApp, calls, or Instagram. Start by saving all proof (contracts, receipts, chats), then contact Hitched support to report the vendor and ask for guidance. If there’s still silence within a few days, check your payment method (bank/card) about possible protection or dispute options. But useful—tools like an Instagram downloader can help you save vendor posts, stories, or portfolio images as evidence if their page disappears later.

Finding the right vendor usually depends on how responsive they are after the contract is signed, not just during negotiations. We improved a lot of our internal coordination by refining onboarding and communication workflows, and I came across an article on Business Blog that explained this really well in a practical way. It gave some useful insights into helping new hires adapt faster and keeping operations organized as teams grow.
