Venue dressing

My venue are pretty much doing it all, I will deliver all the bits the night before alomg with my plan of what goes where and what it should look like and they will set up for me, a friend I trust is going over to check it all and make sure it is how I want, as I am a bit of a control freak! I decided I really didnt want the stress of doing it myself as I want to be relaxed in the morning, but it really is up to you and of course what the venue will do for you. Have a chat with them and your florist to see what they will do and if you need to, .ask a couple of trusted people to go and either do the bits the venue wont do or just over see it.

I have the same plan as Charlotte! The venue will set it up for me and I can drop of boxes with instructions the day before - my mum and MOH are going to check it's all perfect

I’m also from Yorkshire so money conscious too! We are having a florist to do the decorations and we are having lanterns down the aisle which she will then re purpose for the centrepieces with foliage. She has also reduced cost by using artificial flowers which we hire from her as well. Ask for different options to help reduce the cost.
We are taking bits we want setting up over to the venue the night before. I will give the venue my instructions then hope they get it right! My fiancé said he would go in and check before I arrive lol.
I know it is hard to give up control but these places really should know what they are doing if they host a lot of weddings! Good luck

Our wedding coordinator at the venue is doing all of the room dressing, if we have outside suppliers coming in then she will also coordinate them and it just makes it easier having one person who knows where things are going etc and i only really need to liaise with her on the morning of the wedding.

Ooooh good call about re-purposing lanterns. I think we're using them in our venue too so this might be a good idea for us.

Our venue are doing it all and we’ve also booked in a few extra bits from a venue dresser! I’m the least creative person ever so I didn’t mind paying a bit extra to have it look good x
