Venue for Asian Fusion Wedding (Western Ceremony/ Asian Reception)?

AnnJolie, 23 of March of 2012 at 11:32 Posted on Planning 0 8

Dear all,

me and my h2b would like to have an Asian Fusion Wedding. I would like to have a classic western civil ceremony, then change outfits and continue with an South Asian themed Reception and Dances (ideally in a Marquee).

Do you know a venue with an old for civil ceremonies licensed building with an already set up marquee in the garden? Alternatively, a ballroom in interior marquee style or anything that can easily be transformed to an asian wedding venue might also be interesting.

Thank you,

Ann

PS: Forgot to say that we are looking for a venue in or around London (up to an hour away from London) xx

Hi not sure where abouts you are but there is Plum Park in Towcester which is a building where you have the civil ceremony and then they have a marquee on the lawn for the reception, we looked at it ourselves for our wedding and it was lovely, here is a link if you wanted to have a look

    hope that helps sarah x

Again, depends where you are but Bramall lane football ground (and specifically I thinkt he new hotel there) seem to specialise in Asian and fusion weddings and have a large fusion wedding fair there too.

Not sure about Venues with a marquee but I went to a fabulous Asian Wedding last year at the Cavendish Banqueting Suite on Edgeware Road, London.

Lots of room and fab catering.

I would strongly recommend taking a look at Knebworth House, near to Stevenage. I have photographed more than one fusion wedding here, many along the lines that you describe that you are after. Really nice grounds, an iconic house and decent large barn. Their Asian catering is excellent too.

    HI,

Can I suggest you have a look at Addington Palace https://www.addington-palace.co.uk/

My friend had a Nigerian wedding 450+ in the fixed Marquee which is there all year round ( which is enormous and gorgeous)

I'm not sure on the wedding side as I was only invited to the evening reception but it's a lovely place.

    Hope that helps

    Suz

Thank you all for your suggestions so far!

It won't be a very big wedding, just around 75 people - So I'm looking for a rather smaller marquee that provides just enough space for a stage, dance floor, lounge area round the dance floor and dinner seating for all guests.

Addington place is a beautiful venue for weddings. I was there last yer for my friends Indian Wedding. Everything was very lavish, huge space. A very suitable place for large weddings, special for Asian weddings.
