Venue Help

Charlie, 24 November, 2021 at 16:56 Posted on Planning 0 5
Hi!
Having recently gotten engaged (Oct 2021) I’ve already started planning! I would love a November 2022 wedding and my partner and I have looked at 3 venues. In my opinion two of them are gorgeous. The third could be nice. I just didn’t get ‘the feeling’ when we went to look round. My partner doesn’t get it and thinks we should go with the third option. He’s come to this conclusion as someone told us to write a pro & con list and venue 3 came out with the most pros and least cons. I just don’t get the feeling like I did at the other two!!

Help!!! Any venue recommendations would be greatly appreciated (Norfolk or on the boarder with Suffolk or Cambs)

It is so hard to choose, but if your gut is it is not the one then I would discount it as you will only stress about it if you go for it and then may be disappointed on the day thinking it is not perfect. Whilst comparing pros and cons is good, you need to really look at what are essential elements to you in a venue and then maybe go back to the venues and look again. I cant recommend anything as not in your area, but search your area on the venues section on here as may bring things up. good luck

A pro and con list can be helpful if you like two venues equally and are really struggling to decide which one to pick. But I'd never use a list like that to decide between a venue I liked and one I didn't - if you don't feel happy about the idea of getting married at venue#3, then it doesn't matter how good it looks on paper!

(I'm sure you could have found a number of people who 'on paper' would be equally as good a match for you as your fiance - but I bet you didn't sit down to make a 'pro and con' list of who to marry!)

So me and my partner were in the area where I had found this beautiful venue and within our budget. So we thought we’d see if we could get a drink to get a feel. We didn’t know there was a wedding going on because there was no signage, car parking was strange and small. But the people there were just subtly rude to my partner. It straight away gave bad vibes. And bad vibes will carry on with you. Having a gut feeling it isn’t the one is enough to add about ten points to the con list
