Venue help !

So sorry you are feeling this way. It really is hard as you want the perfect venue and I get that but, everyone's dream venue is different. Do you have any idea of if you want inside or outside? Style, barn conversion, manor house castle, hotel? when you say you cant find a venue, have you been to look and if so, what is it that you didn't like or feel is missing? I would suggest you take some time to compile a list of the things you want and then maybe look on the hitched venues page at the type of venues. You also need to consider the practicalities and logistics for you and your guests if you are looking across the whole of the UK. I would start by researching within 25 mile radius and expand from there if you cannot find one, but I would say maybe just take some time out from it, relax and then come back to it when you feel less deflated.

I had a look at venues in Hertfordshire as i think that is where you are, and The Grove came up, the external is older but the wedding spaces looked modern and elegant. Is hard as where you are is full of country houses and estates, which I will say are stunning! If you are looking for an ultra modern building you may need to look further afield. sorry if it is mot much help, wish you all the best in finding your venue

I agree with Charlotte, it would be good to get an idea of what you would like. I had a look around Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire as that’s where I live but ended up finding a venue back near where my parents live.


However, I loved milling barn in Buntingford. It was definitely a show stopper of a venue, maybe one to try? I think it’s about half hour away from Bishop Stortford.
Also if you have an idea of how many people you would like at the wedding that can help to narrow down venues.

Our favourite venue so far is Downhall Hotel and Spa. This was the first venue we visited so are going back next week to take another look as we have found we compare all other venues to it. If anyone knows of anything similar to Downhall abit further afield that would be amazing !

Downhall is lovely but right on our doorstep, we have family that will be travelling from all over the UK which is why we haven't pin pointed one area and would have loved to find something a little further away we could visit on other occasions.
