Venue search.. but with difficulty!

Karen, 4 July, 2021 at 15:36 Posted on Planning 0 16
Hello! Smiley smile
I am looking for a venue in the UK where my friends and family are able to stay all weekend. If you imagine a place to get married - barn etc and then separate cottages for family to stay in or a central place with rooms so everyone is together for the weekend.
Somewhere beautiful.. relaxed.. Dogs welcome... walks .. lunches and bbqs - maybe I am asking too much!! 😂 - it’s so we can continue the wedding for a few days with our loved ones. Can anyone recommend!?
Thanks xx

I’m getting married in August at a place called Somerford Hall which is in Staffordshire. We aren’t doing it but they do full weekend hire and it has rooms to stay. It is also dog friendly and all my dealings with them have been really good and we have had to rearrange 4 times due to COVID and they have have been amazing with how they have handled it

We’re getting married at Folly Farm near Bristol and have the whole place from Friday pm to Sunday am - we’re planning a relaxed Friday dinner and then brunch with family/friends before the wedding itself. I’m not sure they allow dogs though...

Should probably add that there is accommodation included - we can’t quite fit everyone in but there are c20 rooms

    Hiya,

We are getting married at place in Cumbria (not sure if that's too far for you?) but our place is a big house with ten bedrooms, a wedding barn, large gardens and then 5 cottages on the grounds. It sleeps 40 people altogether. It's called Longlands at Cartmel and is dog friendly, the price is for 3 nights so you have it from Friday to Monday morning and for us, because our guests will pay something towards their rooms, the price worked out much better than some of the venues you'd book for just one day and we felt it would be more relaxed being there the whole weekend. The owner has been lovely so far too.

Good luck with your planning Smiley smile

Hello! East Afton on IOW, Victorian barn in Dorset (though not dog friendly), Hinton Mart Estate, Hayhouse farm (bell tents rather than cottages though) and Luccombe farm in Dorset (though they have a maximum guest allowance but have tons of cottages and a barn etc).
Hope this helps - looking for similar vibe ourselves!

Hi. I’m not getting married there but I’ve heard good things about Milton End Barns in Gloucestershire. Plenty of accommodation across cottages and then a wedding barn with flexibility around caterers etc. Best of luck with your search!
