Hi everyone!

Hope everyone is keeping well!

I’m just after a little help on choosing a venue & when we should do this!
We are recently engaged & looking to tie the knot in 2023. With Covid I’m expecting places to be getting booked up & wondered if we should be book now or hold tight for a bit? We are actually booked to visit my favourite (so far from online looking) venue tomorrow but I believe they are changing the way they do things & from looking at the prices I’m not sure if it is now out of our budget 😩. We live close to Oxford & I’m wondering if any of you can suggest venues that you have visited/chosen in my area (happy to travel a little out of our way for the right place) & share any info you have ? I know that may be long winded for a simple question so thank you if you’ve stuck through till the end! 😂

Hey, we are in Oxfordshire and have seen some lovely venues, the great barn near banbury is nice, Blackwell Grange (although this was well out of our price range), lapstone barn, voco Oxford Thames. We live near Banbury so have gone for a venue in Evesham which might be a bit far for you but it is lovely, it's called The Wood Norton Hotel. Good luck! 😁👍🏻

Thank you! I will have a peak at the places you’ve mentioned. We are in Didcot so maybe a little far but I don’t mind within reason for the right place!
We are visiting Tythe Barn in Biscester tomorrow which I’ve fallen love with but from April next year they are offering a new wedding experience which is a minimum of 2 day stay thing including the use of their farm house but it’s looking like £16,500 before food & drinks 😬 they have no mention of the previous packages they did so I’m going to ask tomorrow if it’s along side previous or instead of 🤞🏼Thanks again ☺️

I’m also Oxfordshire. Have a look at middle Aston house. It’s so beautiful. Tythe Barn is also a beautiful venue.

Not sure how far you’re looking to travel, but if you’re interested in barns in Oxfordshire, there is Bix Manor near Henley or Old Luxters Barn, which is in the middle of nowhere! They’re both south Oxfordshire, rather than Bicester direction.

Oh yeah that's a nice venue, we loved a lot of the barns but I think they do overcharge, when we looked at Blackwell Grange it was 15k just for the food for the day without even including the venue hire charge, crazy. When we visited the wood norton we loved the venue and the package they offer is really good value. Nice to look around different venues though, I'm sure you'll find the right one 😊
