Venues in Berkshire - help!

YellowDiamond, 7 July, 2015 at 22:23 Posted on Planning 0 1

So I'm on a venue hunt for our reception. The church that really matters to us is in maidenhead so we don't want to be too far from there for the reception as we don't want people having to travel for ages between the two.

i loved the look of monks barn at Hurley riverside park but they are fully booked so that's out! We are also looking at queens eyot. I've also seen hall place at berkshire college of agriculture which I like from the online info.

has anyone been to queens eyot or hall place as a look around or a guest (or actually booked either of them!?) and have any advice, or have anywhere else local to recommend? I'm open to suggestions of different types of place but feel like I have looked at flipping everywhere online! To help narrow it a little bit I'm looking for cheaper venues and quite like the idea of dry hire to have flexibility in the other supplier aspects!

Thanks!

I used to work in Maidenhead during the week and stayed about 10 min drive away at a pub called Spencers in Cookham. Apparently it's now http://www.thewhiteoak.co.uk/

They had a nice beer garden and I can imagine it being a good venue for a country wedding.

I used to go to college at Hall Place, so although i can't comment on it as a weeding venue, it is certainly a stunning place. Well worth going to look at.
