B2B2015, 16 June, 2014 at 18:21 Posted on Planning 0 7

As the title say really. Im hoping to get married sept 18th next year, I want to keep the costs down so that we can manage to save enough without going short in the meantime.

Im going to view the brangwyn hall I was under the impression it was reasonably priced but something is telling me it isnt...

Depends where exactly and what you're after (everyone's "reasonable" is slightly different!)

Recent Swansea weddings in my social circle:

    The Towers: http://www.thetowersswanseabay.com/occasions.html

Oxwich Bay Hotel (a perennial favourite, but possibly a bit of a way for your guests to travel if you're not all local?): http://www.oxwichbayhotel.co.uk/weddings/prices-and-offers-1/

I can't speak to the prices of the following but some other Gower locations I've heard good things about are:

    King Arthur's Hotel: https://www.kingarthurhotel.co.uk/weddings/

    Oldwalls: https://oldwallscollection.com/

And a bit left field (apologies, no pun intended) what about the Liberty Stadium?! https://www.liberty-stadium.com/events_venue_weddings.php

I went to my friends wedding at the oxwich beach hotel, lovely but out of my price range (her wedding cost upwards of £15000) I want to do mine under £5000 or even less if I can, we're paying for it all ourselves so need to be realistic x

my Oh would most likely love the idea of the Liberty stadium but its not for me haha x

I also priced Oldwalls in 2012. They quoted me £8000 for venue and food-again out of my price range, its amazing there though I would definitely have it there if I had the money Smiley sad

I got married in the Castle Hotel, in Neath, an old coach station, and it was awesome.

    I had:

60 day guests for 3 course sit down wedding breakfast, champagne included for toast, 100 evening guests with buffet, DJ and disco, function room hire, cake stand, red carpet entrance, bridal suite for the evening, and full use of the hotel all day.

It cost £2400 for all that, the registrar cost £230 on top of that, and then of course you have to buy your own clothes, flowers, dresses, wine for the tables etc. All in all, I had the full shebang, and it cost about £4000. I didn't have cars or photographers, only one bridesmaid and my dress cost £140 off the peg. It was a totally lush day, and the staff literally cannot do enough for you.
