Venues near Grantham

Sandysounds, 20 September, 2011 at 12:44 Posted on Planning 0 7

My daughter is looking for a venue for her wedding.....finally! Does anyone have any suggestions? It needs to be within a 25 mile radius of Grantham. She wants a stately home or castle..... for a village hall price...lol. Her wedding is going to be relatively small with about 60 to 70 guests.

Any help would be much appreciated.

PS...Guess who's doing the disco and MCing?????

Thank you so much. There are some names there that didn't come up on my search. I have already tried Stoke Rochford...but its way out of our price range unfortunately. I know the Barn... I used it for a DJ conference last year.... but my only concern is that it was in administration. We will certainly look into the others. Many thanks.

We're getting married at Belton House in Grantham.

I'm twenty minutes from Grantham and I cover most of the venues around here. My favourite is Belvoir Castle but it's not cheap. If it's a smaller wedding though, you can hire the castle for part of the day for around £3000 I think.

    Then you've got:

    Belton Woods Hotel

    Stapleford Park (expensive though)

Scalford Hall (nice and reasonably priced)

    Brooksby Hall

Barnsdale Hall Hotel (on the edge of Rutland Water, very picturesque)

The George Inn at Stamford (good for smaller weddings)

    Stoke Rochford

    The Old Barn at Marston

I'm sure there are lots more and I'll post when I think of them.

Kharv, I love your venue too, I looked at that when I got married.

Just thought of some more, trying to think where I've been recently:

    Burleigh House (down the A1)

    Stubton Hall near Newark

Colwick Hall (Nottingham, but short trip down the A52 from Grantham and very nice)

Holme Pierrpont Hall (Nottingham again, down the A52)

    Harlaxton Manor looks gorgeous.

I'd forgotten about Belton house.... I've performed there many times when I lived in England. Lovely place

Speak to Elizabeth King, your local wedding planner

I know she has 4 / 5 relativity unheard of venues up her sleeve, that deliver great value
