Venues/planning for Vow Renewal

Mrsf2014, 23 March, 2023 at 12:39 Posted on Planning 0 3
Hi!
I'm planning a vow renewal for our 10th anniversary next year.
I've enquired with a few venues through Hitched as we'd like a small renewal ceremony and then a reception/party but obviously I'm getting responses with full wedding packages.Just wondering how others have gone about booking for a renewal? It's like wedding 2.0 but I'm wondering if I should just enquire as if I was booking a normal party??

If you want a ceremony then the venue will need to agree that as part of their prices because they will need to have the room set up and potentially turned around for the reception.

What part of the wedding packages are you not wanting? It sounds like you want a normal wedding day, just without the registrar.

I think I'm still unsure about what I want (my husband doesn't know yet, I'm planning on "proposing" to him in a few weeks but I'm sure there will be a clearer idea once he's on board)
I think because it's not an actual wedding, it feels a bit much to be looking at full on wedding packages like it's our first time round. But reading your comment made me think and I think it is probably just the ceremony bit that would be different. That will likely be a church blessing so I should probably look for reception only packages for the venues.

Yes, you can simply enquire as if you were booking a normal party. Be clear with the venue about what you want and don't want, and ask if they offer any specific packages or options for vow renewals or other similar events. Don't feel pressured to sign up for a full wedding package if that's not what you're looking for.
