Videography. Yes or No? Marryoke. Yes or No?

MrsF2Bee, 12 August, 2013 at 22:13 Posted on Planning 0 19

So we only planned to have a photographer. Now I'm thinking I would love a Videographer as we will miss so much of the day. Originally I also like the idea of the Marryoke but now I don't know. Is it an expense for nothing? I think I'm going over board and don't want to push my OH as videography seems to much! x

I just had to Google "Marryoke" as I had no idea what that was...still not 100% sure but only had a quick glance. We haven't decided yet what we'll do in terms of a video but it is something I think I would quite like. Not sure what OH thinks but I will raise it with him at the relevant time. I just remember as a little girl watching my aunty's wedding video in awe, so would like to have something like that for my future children to see.

Haha love Marryoke but not sure my family would go for it! We're having a videographer though. This is my 2nd wedding and the videographer is one of the main things I absolutely did not regret spending money on. It's worth every penny!

Marryoke is much more fun than I expected it to be. The people who offer it as a service have to be slightly insane with high energy levels.

That's not a bad thing to have at a wedding. ?

We ummed and ahhed about this but in the end decided to pay for one... spent aaggggesss looking at cost and what you get and in the end we ended up almost booking one... and at the last minute fell in love with another videographers style and paying £350 more for it!!

Videos are so much more now anyway, they do scenes to music, guest interviews, special effects, you can get all sorts!

But I think apart from the wedding itself photographs and videos are an investment.

What Chris said above but be prepared to spend extra time for the videographer to get enough takes. We always get some fantastic shots while the video guy is setting this up. Smiley smile

I don't think you will find someone that can do both well, at least I haven't seen anyone.

Ooh now I feel a bit stupid - I always thought that Marryoke was just karaoke at a wedding! Still learning something new every day! ?

I googled it too, and it looks like a great idea but I guess it would depend a bit on the guests that you have too!

I have my dads friends doing my photo's (as they are photographers) and then had more to spend on my videographer. My sister had a videographer and photographer and I can honestly say the wedding DVD was amazing and she is much more likely to watch the DVD that look through her photos.

Oh wow, I am loving Marryoke! We would get most of our guests on board with that, and if they don't join in, no food for them lol!

We've already booked our videographer, wish I had seen this before to be honest, it looks like a crease!! I'm going to ask our lady if this is something we're able to do on the day.

I would love to have a videographer aswell but havent looked into it properly yet. If you've got the money in your budget I'd say definitely!

ALTHOUGH, I have to share this girls site with everyone. Maybe not everybody's cup of tea but I absolutely fell in love with her style of videography! My bridesmaid pointed me in her direction. I know I know... She's in Australia! Haha. But she's looking to do some UK weddings next year. I actually emailed her on a whim and she came back with packages from £1000 including her travel and expenses! I couldnt believe that! I haven't looked into videography fees in the uk to know but I would have thought that's probably the going rate?

Anyway... Just sharing her lovely vids really. I think I blubbed at nearly every one!

Now I'm off to see what marryoke is! :o)
