Village hall wedding

Kelly, 9 May, 2023 at 13:08 Posted on Planning 0 2
Hi, we are getting married in a town hall then reception in a village hall about 15mins away. They have a bar and we are hiring people to decorate.
This may be a silly question but who who pours the drinks for a toast if it’s not a ‘wedding’ wedding? Do we do it ourselves?
Also has anyone had a village hall reception and can offer any tips? Thanks!

Do they have people for the bar? Or are you hiring them people in? If yes to both they can pour the drinks for you. Or you could just have the bottle on the table ready and the guests can pour it themselves like you would if you had wine on the table.

    Hello Fellow Salopian!

What's your food situation, will you be having caterers who could do it for you?

I was a bridesmaid at a beautiful handmade wedding in a local village hall. The bar was help yourself, there was wine already on the tables for the meal. The waiting staff provided by the caterers handed out the toast glasses. Maybe you could lay out toast glasses ready and have people serve themselves on their table?

Also, we had evening caterers doing a buffet and hired a young family friend to keep an eye on things like rubbish and glass sweeping. This was a nice way of keeping the cost down and the venue tidy.
