Vistaprint invites - matt or linen finish

Hoping one of you lovely ladies has some feedback to offer!

We're ordering our invites from Vistaprint shortly & have the option of a matt or a linen finish - the latter costs a bit more. Can anyone offer any insight into what either or both of the two finishes are like & whether you would recommend one over the other?

    Hello, the linen finish is a thicker card and definitely makes them look more professional, we've ordered our STD cards from vistaprint, tried out all paper options (via the freebie offers) and linen finish is definitely worth the extra money,

    I had linen finish and think it more textured and expensive.

    Thank you! That's made our minds up then, we will go for the linen finish. Assume it's still possible to write on that finish (e.g. calligraphy pen)?
