Wait for the perfect venue, or settle for something close?

Nicole, 8 November, 2021 at 09:34 Posted on Planning 0 1

Need a little advice! We found our perfect venue, but it's not available for two years. Ideally, we'd get married Sept/Oct next year and our second favourite is available for a good date.
I've reserved the date for a week but I've now got anxiety about it all. I don't want to wait two years as my partner wants to have children ASAP (which is great!).
If we push our wedding to the favourite venue in two years, he will want to have a baby before the wedding and I'm not sure I want that.

Should you wait for that 'perfect' venue or is a second choice still GREAT venue a good idea?

For me the venue was never going to change, we knew we wanted it where it is going to be so we were prepared to wait, we were lucky they had a date next year that fit with when we wanted. It really is up to you, personally I would always be wondering what could have been so I would wait, it also gives you more time to save up so can then add in some extras in terms of your entertainment for the evening or splash out a bit more on other areas. In terms of the baby thing, if you are not ready then you need to tell him that as regardless if if you do it next year it seems like you would want to wait a bit anyway. Is a hard decision but you need to go with your gut, good luck
