Luckily I have a while yet but ive no idea. Im more into indie and not a fan of love songs. My friend walked down the isle to the mario theme tune. That was fun ☺
It doesn't have to be a song. If you do choose a song, I believe it should be a song that's special to you. I'm having my son playing Le Onde by Einaudi which is a lovely piece of modern music that is special because my son will be playing it. We'll record it onto the iPad as he's also walking me in lol..
If you really can't think of a song that's special to you, and people do have some very original tunes, don't forget you can have the traditional bridal march. Having an outdoor ceremony I think gives you some lovely options. Pachelbel's Canon is popular as the Arrival of the Queen of Sheba if you fancied something classical which might fit nicely with an outdoor ceremony.
I think it depends what kind of music you and your OH like.
Funnily enough I spent hours on the net looking for something. I was going to use a instrumental version of jessie by joshua kadison (h2b and I LOVE this song) but it sounds like a cheesy 80s romcom type song, without the lyrics. Makes me cringe a bit.
so I have no idea. For us it needs to be something meaningful and not just any nice sounding song. Really struggling! Tempted to just jig down the aisle to mc hammer
I plan on walking to Etna James - At last but this could change as wedding isn't until Sep 16. But I think it fits in well with my and my OH as our wedding is a week after our 9th year together
Ours is Sextape by Deftones. Probably an instrumental version. The name isn't exactly weddingy but I adore it and i'm a huge deftones fan. I had to get a bit of my music taste in there somehow!
I was thinking about How Long Will I Love You by Ellie Goulding, but it's not really one of 'our' songs. The song that is really ours is I Miss You by Avril Lavigne, but even without the lyrics it's quite a sad tune; plus it's guaranteed to make us both cry!
I like the idea of 'how long will I love you'! I am going to ask my H2Bs sister to sing/record a song as she has a beautiful voice. I was thinking of Songbird by Eva Cassidy but Ellie Goulding is now in the running!
We are having our ceremony outside in a courtyard in Sorrento in May. Something delicate would go best I think
We are planning Ed Sheeran 'thinking out loud' as our first dance at the moment.
I'm going with Pachelbel's Canon - a true classic. I know it's super popular, but ever since i first heard the song when i was younger, i knew it was what i would have when i got married. Absolutely love it.
We are busy trying to decide on this too. MrsRees2Be I love your idea of Game of Thrones. I'd been pondering the Firefly theme or one of the Doctor's themes from Doctor Who (not the main theme tune) or possibly something from other series we both love to watch. Hmm... it's a tough choice
We're thinking of having 'Oh When the Saints' for the recessional. I fancy something a bit fun, both OH and I are Saints fans and it'll have most of the guests in stitches!
I'm having Pachelbel's Canon D Minor, it was an obvious choice and a true classic, every time I hear it it sends chills down my spine (the good kind) As soon as H2b proposed I knew this is the song I would have. I Absolutely love it.
Concerning hobbits from lord of the rings. Not a crazy fan of the film but this is the most beautiful piece of music ever and was perfect for our outdoor woodland wedding.
I do like concerning hobbits. I've also been considering the breaking of the fellowship... Would it be too geeky to walk down to lord of the rings sign the register to game of thrones and walk out to enya may it be - also from lord of the rings...or another game of thrones song. I also want our rings engraving with moon of my life statement from GOT
Hi we have just decided on ours the last few days. We are having a small civil ceremony IN 74 DAYS!!!! EEEK
Entrance music is Ellie Goulding How long will I love you
Signing the register is Foo Fighters Everlong Acoustic version
and leaving together as Mr & Mrs will be either Shine from the Croods or You've got a friend in me from Toy Story, they are our little boy's favourite "loop"" films and bound to raise a smile.
I really fancy Can't help falling in love with you by Elvis but the Ingrid michaelson version. Also considering the string quartet verson of U2 - All I want is you.
But a really special song to both of us is The Heart Asks Pleasure First by Michael Nymann. I let him listen to it on my headphones in highschool and we always loved it!
Quite fancy signed sealed delivered for signing the register or leaving! (cheeeese!)
