Walking up the aisle

Katie, 11 of March of 2024 at 14:29 Posted on Planning 0 2

Hi everyone, i was wondering what others have done or their thoughts.

This will be my 2nd marriage and my OH first. He has 2 children from a previous relationship. B will be 16 and G will be 12. I am having G as a junior bridesmaid but was going to ask B if he would escort me down the aisle to his dad, as my dad passed away 4 years ago.

I then thought about having groomsmen and OH walk down the aisle first escorting bridesmaids and having OH escort is daughter.

Please let me know your thought

You can do whatever you like.

Having the bridesmaids walk in first is common in America, but I've seen it at a few UK weddings recently, so it seems to be becoming more popular over here now too.

OK, so this is something I always tell the Brides and Grooms that I photograph. There's no right or wrong way over here in the UK... BUT, if you are going behind your Bridesmaids, please walk slow, allow yourself some separation between yourself and those in-front of you. Take your time walking down the isle, there's no rush and make sure to look up occasionally at your guest - enjoy it! I've had it so many times where Brides have been obstructed from view. This goes for everyone who you would like in the photographs. Also, nothing wrong with men walking down the aisle either, it provides better photograph opportunities.
