Wanting a Mexico wedding, who to invite?

Hello! Newbie here. Me and my fiancé are recently engaged and are both entertaining the idea of a Mexican wedding with a party back home.
The one thing I worry about is who to invite and how, I know there would probably be a lot of people, who couldn’t attend, as we know it’s a massive ask cost wise, but who would you invite?
If you went for the smaller, more intimate option what would you do about partners of brides/grooms party? I know extended family members would be miffed if said partners were invited and they weren’t. Xx

Hi Sarah , congratulations! I would invite the people that would mean the most to me them being there and if they choose to come or not they have had to choice , you could invite their partners if you like then they have to option to come at their own expense . Don’t worry over what anyone else thinks! I had the exact same problem doing our guest list but at the end of the day it’s your day about you and your fiancé , if someone ends up miffed , leave them to it! Xx
