Wax seals for wedding invitations

AliLindsey, 1 October, 2008 at 11:51 Posted on Planning 0 10

Quite fancy the idea of a wax seal with our initials on to seal the envelopes. Anyone using these? Do they fall off in the post or get stuck in the sorting machines?

Don't want to cause aggro for the post office!

You could do a test run and post one to yourself...

Thanks girls! I haven't actually bought them yet - so can't do a test run! Kelly if you do find out, that would be wonderful!

I just have images of the sorting machines all jammed up and blowing up or something!

I used stickers on ours instead of wax seals if you're worried about it...

We are doing Wax Seals and have actually made up all of the seals in preparation and then adding them to the invites and sticking them down with superglue or something. I think as long as you make sure that there is another peice of card in front of the seal, it shouldnt be too much of a problem.

Also, might be worth putting on the envelope "fragile"

    Hope this helps

    Hi Ali,

I found out as long as the letter is no bigger than 610mm x 460mm x 460mm then shouldnt be a problem.

    Hope that helps

    Hello

My sister had these on her invites, and she was concerned about their stability as such. So rather than stick them on the envelope, she put them in the bottom right-hand side of the invite. The invites were printed as though they were hand-written caligraphy etc.

    Hope this helps

    xx
