Website domain expiry

Alfie, 26 May, 2024 at 11:23 Posted on Feedback to Hitched 0 8

We have just paid for a custom website domain, only to then be told that it will expire in 12 months, which is before our actual wedding. Why were we not informed about this prior to paying, and is there any way in which we can extend the expiry date?

We've just done exactly the same thing. Did you get anywhere with this? Is it possible to renew the domain before it expires?

Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s understandable to be concerned about the domain expiration timing, especially with such an important event like your wedding. Typically, domains are registered for one year, but you can easily extend it by purchasing an additional year or setting up multi-year registration. It’s always a good idea to double-check the terms before paying. If you're unsure, contacting the domain provider for clarification can help. On a related note, for anyone searching for meanings or translations, it’s important to ask clear questions, like “ what does acubi mean ” to get accurate answers.

This just happened to me! I didn't realise it would expire as said "Free website" Now I have no confirmation of the payment - is this a scam?

When managing online assets, such as websites or domains, it's crucial to stay on top of expiration dates to avoid disruptions. Similarly, when investing in display technology, understanding the SMD screen price in Pakistan is important for businesses and event planners looking to make an informed decision. These screens provide high-quality visual performance at affordable rates, offering a great solution for various professional and entertainment needs.

Hi did you ever get an answer for this? I’m in the exact same boat, we’ve only just sent out invites and are using our Hitched website for RSVP. But it says the domain expires in July!! Our wedding isn’t until December and I can’t find any answers online about extending the domain?!

Hi all I’ve had a response from Hitched about this - the good news is one week before your domain is due to expire you will have the option to renew for another year. Bad news is obviously you have to pay for another year. But at least the website address won’t change if you don’t want it to.
