Wedding attire help

Keep it simple, just add a line like

Dress code is smart attire, no jeans and we ask that guests avoid white.

I think people know that Jeans are not wedding attire and every women should know not to wear white, but if you are worried just add the above to clarify

I don't really think this is necessary. Its an upspoken rule that you don't wear jeans or white to a wedding. I too don't want this but I haven't put it on the invite, as its widely known not to do these things, unless the invites state a casual dress code.

As Charlotte said if you are overly concerned about this then what she has written above is probably how you would word it.

I like Charlotte's phrasing.

I agree that in the UK, it's probably not necessary anyway, but maybe it's worth being on the safe side, especially if you have guests coming from abroad. I went to a wedding in NZ once, and most of the male guests were in jeans or surf shorts!
