Wedding Bands - Ayrshire Scotland.

judilyn20, 1 October, 2008 at 11:56 Posted on Planning 0 10

HI

I am getting maried at Brig a Doon, next July. I live in South Africa and I am struggling finding a good band. We are looking for a band that plays a range and also Ceildh, but we want upto date songs, like Killers, Kooks, Oasis etc. Can anyone recomend a band that suits??

Thank

J

Sorry no recommendations, all the weddings I've been to have either been a ceilidh band with some modern tunes hooked up to the speakers in the break, or vice versa ?

There are a few local hitchers who might have a better idea than me though ?

    Try First Class Show Band.

They have male and female vocals and a ceilidh section.

Failing that, I'm a wedding singer/DJ and have a ceilidh section that I call. I know the Brig O Doon well, it's a lovely venue.

We're using hot scotch - they are a 3-piece ceilidh band but also a DJ so its not a live band but they may be an option?

Otherwise my friends brother runs an agency called 'ceildh connections' who have lots of ceildh bands on their books nd may be able to help you out...

I can highly recommend BWC although she has paid me to say that ?. Debs is playing at my wedding and I couldn't be more delighted.

If I couldn't have had Debs I would either have had Fudge Machine https://www.fudgemachine.uk/fmachine.html or First Class Showband as mentioned above. I don't know if Fudge Machine have a ceilidh section but worth asking as they are fab and I know a lot of people that have used them.

    Hi,

We had a band from Ayr but I can't for the life of me remember their name, but there is also this website: https://hireaband.co.uk/ I think the people who started this website are from Ayrshire - I have seen 'The Del Cotton experience' at a wedding and they were very good.
