Wedding breakfast

Jessica, 20 of March of 2022 at 18:44 Posted on Planning 1 8
Has anyone managed to find a decent venue which doesn’t force you to have a wedding breakfast? We’re wanting a more relaxed day with a later wedding, no speeches etc then maybe a hog roast!

    Hi
I'm getting married in August and we are having a hog roast as our wedding breakfast as didn't want a 3 course meal as my partner can't eat much due to a stomach problem x

Look at venues that are not hotels or with their own catering in house as they are more likely to let you bring in catering that will fit your style and choice. I have been to a few weddings that have had BBQ or food trucks so it is doable you just have to research your area and ask the venues

That sounds brilliant! This is the kind of thing we’re wanting but where we’ve seen so far are strict on having a 3 course wedding breakfast

Awww no way ours had 4 different packages and we chose the hog roast package for our wedding breakfast as it suited us better. It's still costing 72.00 per person x

We are also based in south yorkshire and have found a lovely venue that's quite DIY so we are having an afternoon instead of a wedding breakfast and then a hog roast in the evening, both from their recommended suppliers list.

Have a look at Sheffield Manor Lodge and Woodside Lane for DIY venues near Sheffield.

Look at blank canvas venues - we are getting married in a barn which allows you to hire own caterers and supply our own drink! We are having bbq and ice cream van then pizza van in the evening xx

Look at hiring spaces that don't just do weddings - village halls and some rural conference centres (think converted barns) allow outside catering. Or look into holding your reception at a village pub.
