Wedding burnout

Nathalie, 21 April, 2022 at 12:19 Posted on Planning 0 4
Anyone else experiencing this? Or is it just me 😅
Getting married in just under 2 weeks, and I’m just feeling burnt out with it all. I’ve done 95% of the planning, which I don’t have an issue with (I’m more organised, plus he’s paying a lot more towards it so it all balances in its way!) but it’s just been a lot to do, and all the little things now (agreeing timings between multiple suppliers, friends, questions from guests, organising the last minute stuff we didn’t think of before) are just exhausting me. I have the week before the wedding off so I’m hoping I can use that time to relax and get pampered, as it doesn’t help trying to balance it all + my job. Usually when there’s something I’m planning and excited about even if I’m physically tired the adrenaline and excitement would give me the energy I need, but at the moment I’m just tired and exhausted and the excitement has gone, replaced with stress and anxiety.

Im sure it’ll return, and all the important stuff is organised so we’ll be able to show up on the day looking good and get married and have a party, which is all that matters. I just didn’t expect to reach full blown burnout with something that’s meant to be so wonderful and hoping this will pass after a few days once the nitty gritty little bits are sorted and I haven’t also been trying to juggle my job with it all too!

I totally get where you are coming from! We are 8 days away and the last couple of weeks i have felt drained with all the last minute things to do and constatnly overthink things and feel I have forgotton something! I think it is normal to feel this way as it is now that limbo period and I personally just want to get it done now! I am sure you will feel better, I like you have the week off before so I am hoping once work is done tomorrow I can relax next week and focus more on the day I will feel better. It will all be worth it, keep calm and focus on starting this amazing new lifw with your Hubby X

I’m 2 days away and it’s STRESSFUL. I’ve had some last min issues but I’ve just sort of accepted that all the little things don’t matter and won’t matter on the day

Yeah it’s just so many things all of sudden, when I thought I was so organised and ahead of the game 😄 definitely looking forward to a week off to reset before the actual day so I can actually enjoy it! Best of luck with your day too!

That’s the attitude I’m trying to have, the important thing is me and my partner and our friends and family get there, we get married and have a big party - if we, guests, the registrar and band show up, that’s the basics that matter to me, and everything else is a nice to have (well ok, the dress is essential too!). Hope you have an amazing day!
