Wedding Cake Help!

I have a friend who definitely found a bakery willing to do this, but she had to try a few. I also had another friend who was convinced her venue would do it. They wouldn’t. Worth asking though!

I am getting married next year too and took a quick look at cakes on this website today, I could not believe the prices! I could make it myself as I do bake but the icing would be a bit more stressful I agree!

I think I will look local as I know a lady from Facebook so maybe she will be cheaper! Good luck all

My cousin who does wedding cakes is going to do mine me now thank god....didn’t think of her because she lives so far away but she’s agreed to come a few days before the wedding. Phew, hopefully I have it sorted now. If you’re able to make your cake that’s great, but definitely make sure you give yourself loads of time to find someone to ice it. Good luck

Hi, not sure about icing it for you, but there are some local people to me that make cake toppers and edible decorations. Maybe try searching local cake decorations in your area on facebook, small businesses are usually on facebook x

View quoted message I’m at the early planning stages and I originally didn’t think of asking family but I was listening to a wedding podcast giving tip for saving money, they said look through your guest list to see if anyone has skills you can use. What kind of cake do you have in mind, I watched videos on YouTube and I really didn’t realise just how technical it can be, I wouldn’t be able to bake anything let alone decorate it. If you can bake some of the videos I saw were really good for directing on what to do. Good luck!
