Wedding Cake on a Budget

Eileen, 25 November, 2024 at 08:56 Posted on Planning 1 1
Hi all,I could have sworn I posted about this last night already but I can't find the post. Alas, here we go again:
For budget reasons we are considering to get a cake from Waitrose or M&S or maybe get one courier delivered by Cloud Nine Cake Center. However, I'm unsure if this a crazy idea, because we will be spending the two days leading up to the wedding in a hotel. So I would have to either decorate the cake in our hotel room and then transport it to the venue *or* I ask the venue if i can decorate it in their kitchen.
- Am I delusional for considering this ? Does it sound like a bad idea ?- Has anyone had any experience with Waitrose or M&S cakes or with Cloud Nine Cake Center ?
Thanks so much.

It's understandable to be concerned about logistics and quality when planning for a wedding cake on a budget. Here's some guidance: FLVSlogin com

    1. Not a Crazy Idea: Getting a cake from Waitrose, M&S, or Cloud Nine Cake Center is a practical approach to saving money. Many people have successfully used supermarket cakes for weddings.

    2. Hotel Room Decoration: Decorating the cake in your hotel room is feasible, but ensure you have all necessary tools and enough space. Be mindful of the hotel's policies regarding food handling.

    3. Ask the Venue: If possible, check with your venue about using their kitchen for decoration. This could be more convenient and reduce the risk of transporting a decorated cake.

    4. Experience: Waitrose and M&S are known for their quality cakes. Cloud Nine Cake Center also has positive reviews for delivery and taste. It might be worth ordering a small sample cake to test the quality beforehand.

It’s all about planning and ensuring you have a backup plan. Wishing you the best for your wedding!
