Wedding car

Oh just me again, being a pest with another question…

Our wedding venue is where we will be getting ready, and the chapel is a part of the venue just a 2 minute walk from the hall. Do you think I’ll need a wedding car? As this is quite expensive for a 2 minute journey. I don’t know anyone with a nice car acceptable for a wedding?

Can you have a friend with a clean car (doesn't have to be anything special) as a backup, just in case it pours with rain on the day? You don't want to turn up at your reception soaking wet, but otherwise, a 2 minute walk shouldn't be a problem and it would be very expensive hiring a car just for that!

Just bear in mind that 99% of 'wedding essentials' are anything but - as long as you've got the paperwork, someone to marry you and two witnesses, everything else is totally optional. Some people have spent years dreaming about their wedding transport, but if that's not you, then there's no need to bother.

Mmm it sounds like getting a car will be a huge expense for such a short journey. If you would be comfortable walking in then I don’t think I’d bother. But maybe have a friend’s or relative’s car on stand by in case it rains.

My SIL had the same type of venue and we walked over as car was too expensive and let's be honest, no one sees you arrive so was a waste of money. If you feel the walk would be too much in your dress then ask a bridesmaid/usher /dad if they have a car they would be willing to drive you in, you could pay for a valet beforehand so you know is clean for you
