Wedding cars

Gemma, 7 of June of 2024 at 07:38 Posted on Etiquette and Advice 0 2
Hi ladies (and gents)
We've ordered wedding cars for 3 hours (which is there package) but the photographer said he thinks photos will take us over this time. I'm yet to contact the car company but has anyone ever had this? Do wedding cars usually give there hours by journey by time travelling or time they collect to drop off and has anyone ever been able to extend it?
Hope this makes sense x

Your best bet is to ask the hire company, but unless you have a long way between home and venue, you should be fine. You don't need a huge number of photos with the car anyway

It would help to know a little more about your day.

Is it from home/parents to the venue for a civil ceremony or to Church and then to the Reception venue.

If from home/ parents - then church, if not too far the car could do 2 trips - 1 with mum and the bridesmaids and then back for you and dad, and the after the Church on to the reception venue.

Lets say its 15min to the Church then in this scenario for a 1pm wedding the car may need to pick up Mum and bridesmaids at 12.00 - get to church for 12.15 - get back to you at 12.30 then back to Church for 12.45.

Then allow 1.20 hours at the church covers ceremony and a few photos - then 20min to the reception then a few shots of the two of you with the car at the reception - now sometimes the car will stay as a bit of talking point - interest for the guests ECT but we dont need any more photos of it so it could actually go at that point.

So in this scenario its a total of 12- 3 max. =3 hours

So it all depends on how close the venues are - is a Church involved - Are you squeezing in two trips before the ceremony.

Sometimes if it is just the one venue for a civil ceremony then the car will wait until after the ceremony so you can then have pictures with the two of you with it and then they may also hang around whilst you have drinks outside, if its a vintage car then guest will chat to the driver and they are usually happy to talk about their car and love the interest given.
