Wedding Cars!

MrsMarshall2B260517, 5 July, 2016 at 15:33 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi everyone,

I'm really struggling with wedding cars! I've always said that I'd like a vintage fiat 500 on my wedding day, but now I've ordered my dress I've realised there is no way I would fit in one! looking at alternatives I'm thinking possibly a vintage beetle or something similar. I've been quoted around £375 for a beetle and £340 for another classic wedding car.. I don't know if these prices are pretty average, but it seems steep to me for 3 hours hire! can anyone tell me if these seem similar to what they've been quoted? also if anyone can recommend wedding cars in the west midlands that would be great! I'm looking for something a little different to the usual wedding cars, but not too sure what! inspiration would be good ?

thanks!

It's a lot of money but yeah, it sounds fairly normal to me. We're paying a little more but we've been charged extra because the reception venue is an hour away from the church - it'd probably be more like yours otherwise.
Our car is fairly traditional and I'm not in the midlands, so I'm afraid I can't help much with suggestions of cars or companies.

Not very helpful as I'm in London but I'm having a white traditional taxi to take me to the venue. That might be an idea for you. I can't remember exactly but I think he charges around £250 for 3 hours.

I'm having a similar problem. I really want a vintage Cadillac or Ford, I love 1950s Americana. I can't get exactly what I'm looking for but quotes have been around the same as yours for 3 hours. I would recommend looking at car owner clubs on FB I have got a couple of contacts through this Smiley smile

I really wanted a vintage beatle but couldn't justify the price which I thought was a lot to. It seemed a little less then your quote but it was for 2 hours.

I then decided I'd just jump in my sister's people carrier but she didn't think it was posh enough so she's sweet talked her friends bf to take me in his new jag. They were invited anyway, he's very excited to be involved and has even bought ribbons in our colours for his car. I tried to offer some money but got told off so I'm giving him a bottle of our toasting cider as he's a cider drinker and a box of chocolates. My sister is driving the bridal party in her car.

It might be worth asking around friends and family as you never know.

The pricing sounds on-par for wedding transport, with prices being cheaper if you go for local companies.

We usually factor in 2 hours before pick up time for travel time and the all important contingency (especially with the M25.) A 3 hour transport service is usually a 6 hour day for the driver with travel time and cleaning the car.

Asking family members or car clubs is also a good idea - but be careful as the moment any money is exchanged the insurance required for the car changes to "hire and reward" which family members or car club folks may not be geared up for, along with any PL cover, back up vehicles or contingency staff.

Taxis are good value or your vehicle may offer good value for money if it can also double up as a photobooth like our campervans or indeed some taxis...

    Hi,

We're paying £325 for a vintage s type Bentley for 3 hours - we're very close to the venue though otherwise it would have been more.

    For inspiration here's ours below:

    We're based in Yorkshire though.

    Good luck on your hunt!
