Wedding Cost 30-40 people

Lucy, 26 January, 2022 at 12:36 Posted on Planning 0 2
Hello all,

My first post here and tbh I'm pretty clueless about Weddings in general as I've only ever been to two myself.
I wanted to know if £12k was a reasonable amount for a wedding if it was to cover the following for about 35 adults:
Venue hire ( stately home / Castle etc)Drinks ( reception, toast and breakfast)MealEvening foodCanapésPhotos Event decoration / floristBridal room and honeymoon roomEvening DJRegistrar Chairs / linens / staff
Thanks Lucy

For all the services you are getting I don't think that is unreasonable. Also is easier to have elements included in one place so you are not sourcing and managing the suppliers, but, it depends on if you like the florist and photography style. I would also confirm it does include registrar as our venue said they cant book that and we do it, it was £750

When I tot up what we are paying for similar services separately it is coming to about £10k, however, our food is 50 day and 100 evening. Personally I wanted a specific photographer as for me that is a huge part of the day and I was happy to spend more to get the right quality. The all in packages do look appealing, but I would defiantly do my homework on the component suppliers first

We were getting quotes of between £4-£6,000 for a package for 30 people in South Wales, but that excluded photographer, overnight accommodation and evening party, so I think your price sounds fairly reasonable.

As Charlotte says, do your homework to check you are happy with the vendors used before you book. You could almost certainly organise the wedding for less if you arrange the individual components yourself (that's what we did, and it was loads cheaper), so what you are really paying for is the convenience - which is worth having if you really like everything that is provided, but not if it means compromising.
