Wedding dress advice Central BRISTOL

TheLilBride, 3 June, 2014 at 00:55 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi all!

First post here; I'm getting married in about a year (^^) and have booked myself in for a wedding dress appointment at the end of the month- unfortunately just made the mistake of looking at some reviews and don't like what I've seen!

I wondered if there are any Brides or Brides-to-be who can recommend a Bridal Salon in the Central Bristol/Clifton area. My main priorities being polite/friendly staff who are happy to offer advice, a good standard result, and a cost limit of about £1000. I won't cancel the appointment I have just yet, but I don't know any Bristol brides who could have given me help before now Smiley atonished

Hi honey, I can't help with Bristol I'm afraid, but I booked an appointment and then found hundreds of horrific reviews about the service there! Just go and use it as an opportunity to try on dresses and get to know styles. If you fall in love with a dress, go on the designers website and find other stockists. If you're worried about the way they treat you on the day, bring someone with you who you trust (my sister was not going to let anyone be rude to me).

I fell in love with 2 dresses and won't be using that store because of the reviews, but on the day they were lovely to me. Good luck! And enjoy dress shopping!! X

I'm from Bristol originally but now live in Cardiff, so did all of my shopping here. I still have a friends in Bristol, so i'll ask them which shops they recommend for you.

Also - remember most of the time people don't take the time to write good reviews.

Clifton brides? I never went there but I like them on Facebook and they seem really personal and involved in all individual brides. I think there's also a shop on the triangle. I got mine from truly you in thorn bury and they are lovely also rookery bridal in Weston super mare is amazing. I know it's more further afield but I can't definitely recommend the last two. Also what do the reviews say? If they stock a dress you like then go and try it on and see how they are. Westbury on trym have some lovely reliable bridal shops too xx

I went to just for you bridal in Bristol city centre and they were lovely. I went to a few other shops too but the dress selections seemed to be quite limited, so went back and got the dress I loved at just for you.

I'm in Bath and got my dress from Rookery Bridal; they had a lovely shop in Bath with lovely people but sadly they closed it so I will now be going for my fittings etc at the Weston super Mare branch. The Bath branch had a good range of dresses and the Weston one is apparently quite a bit bigger. I was suprised how few dress shops there actually were around here. I visited Krystle Brides in Bath which was lovely (and had my second favourite dress) and Special Day & Appletons in Keynsham that had lots of dresses for lots of budgets.
