Wedding Dress Cold Feet !!!

Josie, 28 April, 2022 at 19:20 Posted on Wedding Attire 0 1
So, I got my wedding dress back end of last summer. I get married this September in Portugal. I tried it on for the first time again this week for alterations to start and I loved it but I just didn’t get that feeling again!!!

It was the only more floaty dress I tried on, as I was stuck on fitted before, tried it on, loved it! Fitted at the waist but more floaty at the bottom.
But now I’m thinking should I of tried on more dresses that style? Did I just love it because it was more comfortable?
I’m thinking did I pick my dress too early? Have any of you other brides felt like this????

I did a similar thing to you and picked an A line dress after being convinced I would go for something fishtail. It was the style I actually felt most special in and much like yours, mine is still fitted at the top.

My rationale was that actually I’ll only get married once so why get something that’s the sort of style I could wear to a fancy ball (not that I go to many of these 🤣) when I could go for the bigger A line skirt and really feel like a bride. Obviously that’s personal preference and it’s different for everyone.
As for whether you picked your dress too early, I don’t think there’s any such thing, especially at the moment! I chose my dress last month and I’m not getting married until September 2023. Once you’ve found something you like I don’t think it’s too early.
Sorry that I can’t help more because I haven’t had the exact same experience as you but I’m sure it is quite normal to have some second thoughts about your dress because for a lot of us it’s a really big part of the day. I think what can be difficult to get your head around is that you aren’t going to look back at all your photos with a fitted fishtail silhouette which you may have been imagining for a while (that’s certainly a thought I had at least!) but A line is just as beautiful and flattering but in a different way. At the end of the day, when you chose your dress you loved it and you’ll probably find that if you’re having hair and make up trials and take your shoes along for fittings that it will all start to piece together and help you to remember that feeling.
Did you take anyone with you for your fittings? Sometimes that can help too because you get another opinion 🤍
