Wedding Dress Complaint Update

PompeyEm, 21 November, 2011 at 09:09 Posted on Planning 0 2

If you want a recap of the dress saga, see below:

But, as an update, I contacted Consumer Direct and wrote a letter, I also continued with my line of enquiry the dress manufacturer.

Eventually, they agreed that they should see the dress before deciding whether it was a manufacturing fault or not but they thought that as I'd had alteratins they would pass responsibility back to the bridal store. Me and my heavy (otherwise known as my husband) took m y dress back to the store two weeks ago but were told that it might take a couple of weeks to hear.

I finally got a call back late last week:

HAVING TAKEN THE DRESS TO PIECES, THE DRESS MANUFACTURER HAS ADMITTED FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I'LL GET A FULL REFUND!!!

I haven't N&P the bridal store yet or N&S the dress manufacturer (although they have been mentioned in posts on other topics) as it's still to be completely resolved - apparently the Accounts team are very quick to collect money from the bridal stores but not neccessarily to pay back out again, but it's a start!

Good news about getting a full refund! Hopefully they will learn from this and ensure it doesn't happen to any future brides!
