Wedding dress hire

Francesca, 20 February, 2022 at 20:03 Posted on Wedding Attire 0 3

Hi ladies, wondering if anybody can offer advice on hiring a wedding dress. I would love a beautiful dress to wear on my wedding day but it just doesn't fall in our budget, therefore I am now looking into hiring a wedding gown. If anybody has hired their wedding dress I would hugely appreciate you commenting to understand where I can hire from, I am hoping local bridal boutiques offer this service so I can still try on etc. but I have a feeling this services is mainly offered online.

Depending on what you are looking for, it might be worth looking for second hand dresses or mail order.

I looked into bridal hire, but the only dresses I could find were the more expensive ones, and the hire costs ended up being as much if not more than the cost of ordering some dresses second hand or by mail order.

I don't know what your budget is but it is worth looking at Oxfam Bridal as they have some new and 2nd hand dresses at reasonable prices. they have an online store but where we live there is an actual shop so there may be one near you. Or look on Facebook local as often people sell on their dresses so you may get lucky and find one you like in your size. Hiring can cost the same as buying and you also have the stress of making sure it doesn't get stained/ripped etc as you are then liable for the full cost.

Take a look at this hitched article, has lots of ideas and suggested places so will help to give you an idea of styles and prices if you go to the individual sites

There’s a website called “My wardrobe HQ”, it’s not a specific bridal hire place but it does have a bunch of designer wedding dresses you can hire for between £20 - £60 a day - but usually with a minimum 4 day hire requirement. So does depend what you choose but you can get a £2000 designer dress for less than £200 for example.
